Description: The Törner lab at the University of Zürich is offering fully-funded PhD positions aimed at exploring the structural intricacies of posttranslational modifications within intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) and regions (IDRs). Candidates will work with state-of-the-art NMR spectroscopy and engage in interdisciplinary research within a dynamic team.
The Törner lab is focused on the structural and functional investigation of IDPs and IDRs, particularly how they transition between disordered and ordered states, which is influenced by posttranslational modifications and protein interactions. The research utilizes high-field NMR instrumentation to understand the biophysical forces involved and to identify interaction motifs relevant to cancer-related signaling pathways and amyloidogenic protein aggregation. The lab emphasizes a collaborative and respectful research culture, encouraging contributions and ideas from all members
