We are seeking an independent and motivated post-doctoral researcher to join our cutting-edge research on sustainable wastewater treatment. This position focuses on environmental biotechnology with an emphasis on process innovation and microbiology in wastewater treatment. The successful candidate will contribute primarily to research but will also have opportunities for teaching and mentor. Division of Water Environment Technology (WET), Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden.

As a post-doctoral researcher, you will join our Wastewater Management and Environmental Biotechnology research group, collaborating with senior researchers and a project assistant. This project focuses on advancing wastewater treatment through the integration of an aerobic granular sludge (AGS) process with a bioelectrochemical sensor for volatile fatty acid (VFA) measurement, optimizing the performance of AGS systems

Qualifications 

• PhD in a relevant field awarded within the last three years.
• Practical experience in wastewater process technology, especially in operating pilot- and/or lab-scale reactors.
• Desirable experience with bioelectrochemical systems, DNA extraction, PCR, and interpretation of amplicon sequencing/metagenomics data.
• Proven ability to conduct independent research and prepare scientific publications. Strong verbal and written English communication skills
