Uppsala University, Department of Organismal Biology, is seeking a dedicated postdoctoral researcher to work on fungal genomics. This position focuses on understanding the evolution of genomes and the genetic basis of adaptation in fungi, particularly through the exploration of large transposable elements known as Starships. Qualifications 

1. PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Evolutionary Biology, or an equivalent foreign degree by the time of employment decision.
2. Preference for candidates who obtained their PhD degree within three years prior to the application deadline (special circumstances may extend this period).
3. Essential experience with molecular techniques, including techniques for microbial culturing of fungi and transformations.
4. Desired experience with Aspergillus fumigatus and knowledge of statistical analysis and data presentation.
