• Description:

    The University of Bristol is offering a PhD scholarship aimed at constructing an epidemiological modeling framework designed to maintain health security against resurgent infectious diseases. This project seeks to understand the dynamics of infectious diseases and develop strategies to prevent their resurgence post-elimination.

    The selected candidate will receive training in quantitative methodologies, literature review techniques, advanced statistical analysis, and effective communication of scientific results. Opportunities for attending conferences, summer schools, and a work placement with UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) will be available.

    Qualifications 

    1.  A degree in Mathematics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field
    2. Proficiency in mathematical modelling techniques
    3. Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Matlab is preferred
    4. Strong analytical skills and ability to perform literature reviews
    5. Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders
