    We are looking for two MS/PhD students to join the Polar Acoustics Lab! These students would start in Fall 2025 in positions funded by a combination of research and teaching assistantships.  These student will focusing on one of the following topics:

    1. Exploring ice-ocean dynamics related to glacial retreat 
    2. The impact of low-oxygen conditions on predator-prey interactions

    Qualifications 

    • Graduate or undergraduate degree in Oceanography or a related field, such as Physics, Earth Science, Applied Mathematics, Fisheries, Civil/Environmental/Mechanical Engineering, etc. 
    • Strong math/physics background, familiarity with acoustics is a plus but not required!
    • Technical writing and oral communication skills.

     

    • Familiarity with coding for data analysis and/or willingness to learn and develop these skills.
