Description: We are offering a fully-funded PhD scholarship in the field of experimental ultrafast spectroscopy at the Faculty of Science, Leiden University. The successful candidate will undertake research in the area of ultrafast broadband-THz spectroscopy of perovskite materials, with a specific focus on understanding the dynamics of photoexcited electrons in metal-halide perovskites. This scholarship provides an exciting opportunity to work on advanced spectroscopic setups, solution-based perovskite synthesis, and the analysis of time-resolved spectroscopic data within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline
- Strong interest in ultrafast spectroscopy and solid-state chemistry/physics
- Excellent proficiency in English, both verbally and written
- Hands-on mentality with the ability to tackle complex experimental setups and challenges
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with a high value for initiative and creativity
- Experience with ultrafast spectroscopy, optics, proficiency in programming (e.g., Python), and/or perovskite materials preparation is an advantage, but not essential
