• Description:

The Resilience and Sustainability Science Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Smithsonian aims to support evidence-based decision-making to address the climate crisis, working collaboratively with local communities. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to conduct independent research in support of the Smithsonian’s goals to understand and expand resilience and sustainability in marine or terrestrial systems.

Fellowship recipients will be able to leverage the Smithsonian’s resources, including its scientists, collections, exhibits, and data sets, to advance scientific understanding of resilience and sustainability in either marine or terrestrial systems. The focus should be on the resilience and sustainability connecting complex marine or terrestrial systems with the people who depend on these systems and the services these systems provide.
