    The Lakehead University Masters Scholarship is a graduate student opportunity for international students willing to study in Canada. The Lakehead University Scholarship funding includes a stipend of $20,000 per year for two years. Funding assistance for conference travel, fieldwork and publication are also available.

    Lakehead University in Canada is seeking a highly motivated and research-driven student with a background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing and LiDAR or a related field for a Master of Environmental Studies (MES) program beginning January 2025.

    The program  is titled Sustainable, Safe, Smart, and Connected Building Management to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions and is administered by the Department of Geography and the Environment. This research aims to develop a GIS-based indoor floor map for the Four Rivers Environmental Services Group’s new office space for better building management.

    Criteria 

    To be considered for the Lakehead University Scholarship, you must:

    1. The potential MES student should have the following experience/skills:
    2. Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro software
    3. Geographic Information Systems
    4. Remote Sensing, including basic understanding of LIDAR
    5. Computer programming skills
