    SMHI’s Hydrological Research unit in Norrköping, Sweden, is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to join their team. The position involves analyzing natural extreme events using environmental statistical and machine learning methods, contributing to projects aimed at improving water resource management and environmental control. The ideal candidate will have experience in geoscientific data analysis, machine learning, and hydrological modeling.

    Qualifications 

    • Ph.D. in Earth Sciences, Environmental Statistics, or a related field
    • Experience in analyzing natural extreme events and geoscientific data
    • Competence in machine learning/artificial intelligence, demonstrated through publications or project participation
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python for handling large datasets and machine learning methods
    • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written
