The University of Twente is offering a PhD position in Health Systems Engineering (HSE) within the Health Technology and Services Research (HTSR) section. This position focuses on developing methods to evaluate and optimize healthcare strategies through a systems engineering approach. The PhD candidate will:

1. Create a quantitative method determining working hours required by various healthcare staff to manage diseases.
2. Utilize patient data, business information from healthcare organizations, and national registries to inform simulation models.
3. Collaborate with healthcare organizations to enhance the sustainability of healthcare systems.

Qualifications 

• A quantitative Master’s degree (e.g., Health Economics, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, or Computer Sciences).
•  Affinity with statistical or mathematical modeling and programming experience, preferably in R.
•  Good communication skills and an excellent command of English (Dutch proficiency desirable).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
