    Join the Spagnoli Lab at King’s College London as a Research Associate and contribute to groundbreaking research in pancreas development and stem cell biology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of an interdisciplinary team working on a T1D Grand Challenge-funded research program focused on stem cell therapy for diabetes. Apply your expertise in stem cell culture, bioengineering, computational analysis, and transplantation to advance our understanding of islet microenvironments and develop innovative approaches for diabetes treatment.

    The Research Associate will undertake original biomedical research as part of a team investigating pancreatic development and stem cells. Responsibilities include developing bioengineering approaches, analyzing single-cell RNASeq datasets, conducting transplantation experiments, supervising team members, preparing reports and manuscripts, and facilitating collaboration with consortium partners.

    Qualification:

    1.  PhD (awarded or near completion) in Biological Sciences or related discipline.
    2.  Expertise in cell culture (human ES and/or iPS cells).
    3.  Knowledge of developmental and cell biology.
    4. General web-lab skills including molecular biology.
    5.  Expertise in imaging acquisition and analysis (confocal, multiphoton).
    6. Basic experience in single-cell RNASeq analysis.
    7. Track record of publishing in the research area.
    8. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
    9. Self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure & to meet deadlines.
    10. Experience in working collaboratively.
    11. Excellent record keeping, working and designing experiments independently.
    12. Able to supervise, work and integrate with others in the laboratory.
