• Description:

Aix Marseille Université’s Department of iSm2 invites applications for a 36-month non-renewable doctoral scholarship in organic synthesis. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team at iSm2 in collaboration with ICR to work on catalytic hydrogenation of unsaturated compounds by frustrated Lewis pairs. This scholarship offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of modern tools for homogeneous catalysis and gain experience in organic synthesis.

The scholarship is part of an Initiative d’excellence (IdEx) grant from the A*Midex foundation of Aix Marseille University. The project focuses on developing modern tools for homogeneous catalysis using frustrated Lewis pairs. The selected candidate will synthesize original catalysts, characterize them, and evaluate their catalytic performance. This scholarship offers a stimulating research environment and access to state-of-the-art equipment.

    • Master’s degree or equivalent in Organic Chemistry.
    • Proficiency in English and French (B2 level).
    • Strong background in organic synthesis.
    • Experience in homogeneous catalysis preferred but not required.

    Required Documents:

    1. CV
    2. Cover letter
    3. Grade transcripts (M1 & M2)
    4. Two letters of recommendation

    How to Apply:

Interested candidates should send their application documents to Dr. Olivier Chuzel (olivier.chuzel@univ-amu.fr) and Dr. Gaëlle Chouraqui (gaelle.chouraqui@univ-amu.fr) by email.
