    Several PhD Scholarships at Kiel University in Germany for international Students; Monthly scholarship: €1,450 and child allowance will be paid; Federal State Scholarships of Kiel University; Kiel University (CAU) is announcing four federal state scholarships (doctoral scholarships) starting 1 September 2024;

    Kiel University is a research-oriented, international and interdisciplinary university with about 27,000 students from 128 countries, and aims to contribute to its internationalization with this funding program. The scholarship program is dedicated to international candidates in their early scientific qualification phase who have obtained their Bachelor’s degree at a non-German university abroad, have an outstanding Master’s degree from Kiel University, are formally qualified to pursue a doctorate at one of Kiel University’s faculties and would like to continue their scientific qualification with a doctorate at Kiel University.

    Benefits 

    The scholarship is awarded for three years. It is possible to extend it for an additional year on application. If applicable, an additional child allowance will be paid. The monthly scholarship rate as of 1 September 2024 is €1,450 and is based on the rates of the Begabtenförderungswerke. 

    How to Apply

    The application documents must be sent in a pdf file to the following email address by 31 May 2024: stipendien@gz.uni-kiel.de. Only complete applications received by the deadline will be processed. The application must include the following documents:

    1.  Cover letter;
    2.  Curriculum vitae (including a list of publications the applicant has contributed to);
    3.  Copies of certificates: the Bachelor’s certificate and transcript of records as well as the Master’s certificate from Kiel University with final grade (a provisional certificate is acceptable);
    4. Abstract of the planned doctoral research project (1 to 3 pages);
    5. Letter of motivation describing the personal academic profile and special academic activities as well as the individual non-academic, socially oriented commitment, especially in the field of internationalization
